Economic Benefits

The Moduflex insPurr is a wise investment, featuring a turbine-driven mechanism that operates with 0 LPM of oxygen. This design leads to substantial cost savings when compared to traditional ventilators, which often consume 10-20 LPM of oxygen per hour. This results in significant hourly cost savings for your veterinary practice.

Single Bellows Precision

With precise control at every breath and the accuracy of our system, there is no need for a pediatric bellows. The pressure control seamlessly operates with a single bellows, eliminating the necessity to switch between smaller and larger bellows. This offers a significant advantage for clinics, streamlining operations and enhancing overall efficiency.

Complete Patient Overview

The large screen provides a complete overview of your patient’s respiration, allowing you to capture subtle nuances and respond promptly to any changes. This comprehensive insight contributes to a more thorough understanding of your patient’s condition.

Minimal Noise, Maximum Comfort

In the bustling environment of a veterinary clinic, minimizing non-essential noise is paramount for both patients and staff. Our ventilator is designed to generate an exceptionally low level of noise, contributing to a quieter and more serene clinic atmosphere.

Driving Gas The Moduflex insPurr is a wise investment, featuring a turbine-driven mechanism that operates with 0 LPM of oxygen. This design leads to substantial cost savings when compared to traditional ventilators, which often consume 10-20 LPM of oxygen per hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the weight range of animals compatible with the insPurr?

The patient weight range for the device is recommended to be from 1 kg to 100 kg. The rationale behind this specification is based on the maximum capacity of the bellows, which is 1.6L. Taking into account that the maximum volume per breath for a dog is typically 10-15 mL/kg, this translates to a maximum patient weight of approximately 100 kg. It is important to note that this figure is an approximation, as each patient is unique. Factors such as body conformation and overall health may vary, and this recommended weight range may not be universally applicable to all patients, both within and outside of this specified range. Users should exercise discretion and consider individual patient characteristics when using the insPurr device.

Does the insPurr operate without a compressed oxygen cylinder?

Yes. The insPurr is turbine-driven and needs no 50 PSI gas supply of its own: it operates at 0 L/min oxygen consumption. Traditional ventilators require a 50 PSI gas supply and consume 10 to 20 L/min of oxygen. Your oxygen source, whether an oxygen concentrator or a compressed oxygen cylinder, only needs to supply your anesthesia machine, and the insPurr connects directly to that machine.

What ventilation modes does the insPurr offer?

You have the option to choose between Volume-Controlled Ventilation (VCV) and Pressure-Controlled Ventilation (PCV) based on the patient’s needs. Note that the ventilator must be used with Pressure Control Ventilation mode for patients weighing under 5 kg.

What is included with the purchase?

The purchase includes:

  • Ventilator unit
  • Bellow
  • Bellow housing with O’ring
  • 22 mm smooth-bore breathing tube (72″)
  • Airway pressure tee with tubing
  • Mushroom valve
  • 19 mm × 30 mm scavenging connector
  • Filter assembly
  • Power cord
  • Access to the user manual

In addition, 1 hour of video consultation with a specialist is included with the purchase, along with a 2-year warranty.

What should I do if the leak test fails?

Isolate the insPurr ventilator from the anesthesia machine to locate the leak. Remove the breathing hose, seal the connection with your hand, and repeat the leak test. If the test passes when the ventilator is isolated, the leak is likely coming from the anesthesia machine; contact a technician. If the test still fails, inspect the breathing hose for cracks, check the O-ring and the sealing integrity of the bellows housing and bellows, then repeat the test. If the leak test continues to fail, contact a Dispomed technician for assistance.

What ongoing costs or maintenance requirements are involved with owning an insPurr?

Yearly maintenance is recommended. This includes the preventive changing of parts like the bellows, O-rings, circuit tube, filter, pressure sensor line, mushroom/umbrella valve to support the reliable and efficient function of the unit throughout the year. The single bellows design means less wear and tear compared to models where frequent swapping of the bellows is required. This fact, and the cost-effective design of our bellows equates to lower replacement costs throughout the lifespan of the device. Operating costs are virtually non-existent, so you get the full benefit with no added expense to your bottom line.

Technology is advancing so quickly, how long can I expect the insPurr to stay relevant for?

Since the insPurr has been fully developed by Dispomed and operates on a digital platform, future software updates are as simple as having a Dispomed technician upload the newest version via USB drive.

My team isn’t familiar with using mechanical ventilation, is the insPurr an appropriate choice for an introductory unit?

Yes! Beyond including a 1-hour video consultation with an anesthesia specialist, the insPurr was designed to be safe, user friendly and accessible for all types and sizes of veterinary practices. Users can choose to calculate settings manually or let the insPurr do it automatically, based on veterinary industry standards. The interface is clear, informative, and easy to navigate.
