Due to its fixation onto the surgical table, the surgical positioning device maintains patient positioning despite table height or inclination adjustments. The surgical positioning device’s railing system and ‘‘C’’ clamps with cam cleats allow for flexibility in patient positioning. The ropes are covered with heat-shrink rubber tubing allowing for proper disinfection between procedures. An alternative teeth anchoring system is available for young patients or those without canine teeth. The ‘‘+’’ designates a plethora of other procedures in which this surgical positioning device can assist the small animal surgeon in the operating room. Includes a bracket for wall storage.

Patient Safety Guidelines
- Use the provided rope gag to suspend the patient’s head by the canines, as is standard in BOAS corrective surgery
- Limit rope load to < 77 lbs (35 kg)
- Thinner rope gags offer better grip and anchoring behind the canines
- Thicker rope may support more weight but is not required for standard use and reduces stability
As a general rule, a patient’s head represents 10% of their body weight.
Example: A 50 kg dog has a head weight of approximately 5 kg, well within safe load limits.
Cleaning & Sterilization
- The rope is coated with heat-shrink adhesive rubber tubing, making it easy to disinfect between procedures
- The intraoral mesh fabric gag is fully sterilizable
